Come, Mr. Tally Mon, tally me attention

Why are so many people outraged over Belafonte’s recent comments that Bush is the greatest terrorist in the world? I certainly don’t agree with him but nothing this man says could ever bother me simply because it just doesn’t have any impact.

And who still knows Harry Belafonte nowadays? He had his last hit long before 80% of the world’s population was born. The difference between him and, let’s say, Cindy Sheehan is nothing more than life expectancy. Everything else seems to be the same: a desperate and unsuccessful cry for attention.

Well, Belafonte did get a lot of attention, but only from people who are upset with his remarks. He might think by causing waves he’ll actually get things accomplished. I’m not sure what it is he is trying to accomplish since I don’t spend much time researching irrelevant has-beens’ agendas. And those who really believe him are the kind of people who will probably be too stoned to go vote anyway. But one thing is for sure:

Daylight come and he won’t go home.

  1. Entertainers who voice their opinions on politics are every bit as relevant as politicians voicing their opinions about entertainmnet.

  5. What exactly happened to the Dixie Chicks? Was Martie forced to marry “The Swimmer”, for example?

  6. The Dixie Chicks made some anti-Bush comments on stage and found themselves dropped from country radio playlists and their record sales plummeted. I actually don’t think the same will happen to Harry, as his target audience is different.
