Don’t be afraid, sweetheart, it’s just a magazine

Don’t you just love all the special effects in the mainstream media? Forget Hollywood, forget King Kong, NEWSWEEK is leading the way in creating realities so precise, so detailed, once you get sucked into their world it’s tricky to find your way back home.

Remember the story about Korans being flushed down the toilets in Guantanamo? Now that was good reporting! It had some great twists you would have never expected, like in the end it was all made up. I should have known, though, because my toilet clogs up immediately if I dare to even think of something big.

NEWSWEEK has done it again. While everybody anticipated a sequel to the Koran story (Royal Flush - Where in the name of Allah did my prayer rug go?), we suddenly find ourselves in the midst of something totally new:

Welcome to Snoopgate!

I really don’t want to spoil the fun by giving away details of Jonathan Alter’s column. Let’s just say it has the potential for a franchise. I wouldn’t be surprised if Snoopgate II+III were already in the making.

So send your children to their rooms, click on the link above, sit back, relax and be prepared to get flushed down the … I mean sucked into yet another world of NEWSWEEK.
