Saddam “Tookie” Hussein

Breaking News: Saddam Hussein is to write a children’s book to escape his execution!

This book will be distributed to Iraqi schools, some of Saddam’s attorneys told the Middle East correspondents of Misunderestimated Germans. They also disclosed a sample of themes:

  • Jihad isn’t cool!
  • What would Jesus do?
  • How I ever secretly loved the Kurds
  • Israel rulez!
  • God bless America!
  • Grandpa Saddam’s allotment garden
  • My best friend George
  • How to have a shave without getting decapitated

What do you think? Has Saddam changed his life and mind? Did he become a better guy? Should he be kept alive? Or is he just trying to jump on the bandwagon? — Maybe we will ask an Austrian expert on these questions…

  4. As the publisher of Saddam’s forthcoming book “Kalishnikovs for Kiddies”, I resent the malicious implications stated in your article. This is a repentant man. Daddy Saddy (as we now call him) has seen the light at the end of the tunnel. He now wears clean underwear and has agreed to sell cookies for Christ.

    An apology is in order.

    Do not misunderestimate Daddy Saddy.

    Or else.

  5. Fifty percent of the readers of my posts have telephoned me, complaining about “cookies for Christ”. She suggested that they be called “Tookie Cookies”.

My other reader (me) contacted Daddy Saddy and asked his opinion. He said that “Cookies for Christ” had a nice ring to it and that he did not want any neckties for Christmas.

  6. Well, you might have missed the war on Christmas or the overall war on Christians that has been going on in recent years. You can’t just come here and mention Christ. What’s the matter with you?! People would choke on cookies for Christ. It’s simply too dangerous!

BTW I’m thinking about giving Daddy Saddy a subscription for the Rush Limbaugh website. I’ve already adopted a soldier, so why not adopt a dictator? You think he might like it?

  7. M. Meyn,

I called Daddy Saddy one more time (he likes attention). He said he would accept a subscription on two conditions, 1) That he be allowed to listen for at least one full year, and 2) He preferred a subscription to Howard Stern.

I think the full year was related to “no neckties”. Your generousity is heartwarming during the holiday season.

  8. Funny, but it doesn’t touch the heart of it. Is capital punishment justified and if yes on what basis (other than Revenge)? Or how do you rule out misjudgement and faulty cases?

And then last, shouldn’t this man be free?

  9. Max, revenge and vengeance is the only honest justification for capital punishment. The others I have encountered so far were fully irrational.

    Comment by Capt. Fubar - December 18, 2005 @ 1:44 pm

  10. Well, then Capital Punishment is not justified, at least not for classical liberals. Obviously Deterrence doesn’t work and the law system should be about PUNISHMENT and not Vengeance.
Then there is the ultimate problem that defies any kind of capital punishment (except when you are a collectivist in heart). It is not 100% safe and even one innocent individual is too much. If you start the way down, what is 1 individual compared to 100 rightfully killed people, then you are working with the same tools as Communists and Nazis did… I don’t think that is the world we want…

  11. Max,

Perhaps it would be good to outlaw everything that is not 100% safe. This means that automobiles would be outlawed–can’t let those dangerous things on the street. Maybe bicycles also–no, they also are a little dangerous.

I think my best argument is one emotional relief. Unlike the cute little fella that butchered Van Gogh in Amsterdam, I feel certain that “Tookie” will not be back on the streets with his shotgun. Like stepping on a poisonous spider that is about to bite your “tookie”.
